'Top quality insulation' for Coventry houses - Knauf Insulation
A high level of Home Insulation will be used on a housing project in Coventry.
The project will see 23 affordable homes created under Passivhaus standards, which is a German method that allows for ultra energy-efficient properties, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
It will be the first time an estate has been built using this method, which will reduce heating bills to as little as £1 a week.
"A Passivhaus makes the most of its natural surroundings, often using large south-facing windows to maximise the sun"s natural light and warmth and fresh air for natural ventilation," the news provider observed.
John Barnham, head of asset management at Orbit - the firm spearheading the deal - added it is a "really exciting" project.
As well as using home insulation, the dwellings will also have their water heated by solar thermal panels on the roof.
