The real meaning of our Pledge of Allegiance
- I
- Me and all that is me; a person; a commission of one. An American.
- Pledge
- My word of honor, give all that is mine selflessly and freely.
- Allegiance
- My duty, my obligation, my job. Loyalty.
- To the Flag
- Our flag, the American symbol that represents freedom and demands respect to all who see it. The white that represents purity and eternity, the blue embodies the deepness of the American spirit and the red show the never-ending brave and determined heart of its men and women who have defended it.
- of the United
- One American Team, One American Fight. Regardless of race, gender, or where you were born. All moving in the same direction.
- States of America
- Fifty united areas that govern and work differently from each other but come together for the same cause and country.
- And to the Republic
- An organization chosen freely by the people to serve the people with a supreme power to help the people. With the people to the government, not the government to people.
- For which it stands
- proud of all that it represents
- One Nation
- One Country, UNDER GOD.
- Indivisible
- impossible to seperate.
- With Liberty
- Independence, freedom to do as one wishes without being decapitated or killed.
- And Justice
- The integrity or impartiality you deserve.
- For All
- For All, not just one group, but everyone PERIOD.
Is this so hard to comprehend? Has our younger generation lost sight of this basic fact? No matter how mad you are at the current government, be thankful you live with the freedoms you enjoy. Not every country in the world has this freedom. I'm thankful that I live here, even though I don't agree with a lot in the government, I still have the FREEDOM to voice my opinion without fear. Think about that for a minute. If you don't agree with me, please leave your comments, I would love to hear your viewpoints.
If you don't agree with our politicians, you can fix that yourself next time you vote. And if you don't vote, shame on you, please be quiet then.
Lisa..
Hi again Lisa, love this blog, it really hits the heart strings since I served in some of the hardest millitary units this world has to offer, and am proud to be a solder (ex), but one thing, you should "fear" "I still have the FREEDOM to voice my opinion without fear.". What Bush is trying to do is that if you post something he doesnt like, is too shut you down, shut you up, and put you in jail. Yes, this has happened in the United States, and will continue until we stand up and get some real leadership. Kinda sounds like Germany in the early 30's as Hitler was comming to power doesnt it?
thanks for letting me vent, you have a great mind!
Nick
